Since March 7, the Oconee Farmers Market has met at Wire Park every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. That weekly run ends Saturday, October 31. After that, most of the shared holiday calendar moves to other times of day. Of the seven community dates that follow, only Small Business Saturday on November 28 keeps the familiar 9-to-1 hours. The others start at 4 p.m., run across a Friday-to-Sunday weekend, or fall on a Sunday afternoon on Main Street.
Planning a Watkinsville November and December now means marking specific dates instead of showing up out of habit. In the stretch with no market, the businesses at 1725 Electric Avenue keep Wire Park busy on their own.
Two Saturdays left on the old schedule
This Saturday, October 24, already runs a different window. Harvest Fest at Wire Park goes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market's schedule says the whole complex will take part in trick-or-treating, so families can stop at storefronts as well as market tents. Because the start is two hours later than usual, the regular 9 a.m. coffee-and-produce trip will find the tents still going up.
The following Saturday, October 31, goes back to the usual 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Halloween Market & Season Finale. The market's holiday schedule calls it "our LAST SATURDAY of the regular market season" and asks vendors to decorate their tents and come in costume. If you shop the market for produce, this is the last weekly morning before the schedule switches to occasional holiday dates.
In between, downtown has its own Halloween stop. The City of Watkinsville lists Downtown is Trick or Treating on Main Street for Friday, October 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. Put together, that's two trick-or-treat events in two locations, Wire Park on October 24 and Main Street on October 30, followed by a costumed final market on Halloween morning.
How the clock shifts after Halloween
From November through December 19, these are the community dates with published 2026 times:
| Date | Day | Event | Hours | Where |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nov. 20 | Friday | OCAF Holiday Market opens | 4 to 8 p.m. | OCAF |
| Nov. 21 | Saturday | OCAF Holiday Market | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. | OCAF |
| Nov. 22 | Sunday | OCAF Holiday Market closes | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. | OCAF |
| Nov. 28 | Saturday | Small Business Saturday market | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Wire Park |
| Dec. 6 | Sunday | Annual Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting | 4 to 6:30 p.m. | Main Street |
| Dec. 12 | Saturday | Christmas at Wire Park | 4 to 8 p.m. | Wire Park |
| Dec. 19 | Saturday | Last-Minute Christmas Market | 4 to 8 p.m. | Wire Park |
Only Small Business Saturday keeps the familiar 9-to-1 hours. Both December market dates run from late afternoon into the evening, and the parade is on a Sunday. If your weekends have been built around a Saturday morning at the market, the season's highlights now land at dusk.
November's open Saturdays and the Wire Park that stays
Two Saturdays have nothing on the market calendar: November 7 and November 14. That's when it matters that Wire Park is a full commercial complex, not just a market lot. Its current directory lists eight food and beverage businesses:
- Lalo's Tacos & Cantina
- Scoops
- Southern Prospect
- Soco Nutrition
- South Main Brewing
- Pita Mediterranean Street Food
- 1000 Faces Coffee
- Golden Pantry Market
The same directory includes plenty of reasons to come on a Saturday that have nothing to do with tents. Athens Running Company, Apex Climbing, Lotus Movement, The Yard, a branch of the Oconee County Library, Woof Gang Bakery + Grooming, The Bunny Hive, and Maya's Boutique all appear alongside a salon, a nail bar, and 330 CoWork. The full current list is on the Wire Park directory. Hours vary by business, so check before you plan a morning around one stop.
Through the fall, these businesses shared Saturdays with the market. In early November they carry the complex on their own, with coffee from 1000 Faces, a run with Athens Running Company, or a library stop taking the place of the produce tables.
OCAF's weekend opens the gift calendar
The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation's annual Holiday Market runs November 20 to 22. OCAF describes it as a juried show featuring "the region's finest artists and craft persons," with pottery, paintings, fiber art, stained and fused glass, jewelry, sculpture, photography, and woodwork.
Three details shape the visit:
- The Friday evening opening. Doors open Friday, November 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. That's the first shopping window of the weekend, and it's an after-work slot rather than a Saturday morning.
- Admission. General admission is $5 per adult and covers all three days. Tickets are sold at the door and are non-refundable, and children under 12 get in free. One ticket on Friday means you can come back on Saturday or Sunday without paying again.
- The Golden Pear Bakery. OCAF runs a bake sale during the market, stocked by community bakers. It usually carries whole and sliced pies and cakes, mini loaf breads, muffins, scones, and individually wrapped cookies and brownies. Baked goods are dropped off Wednesday, November 18, and Thursday, November 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The OCAF weekend falls just before Thanksgiving week, and the Wire Park Small Business Saturday market follows on November 28. That gives local makers two back-to-back weekends of holiday shopping before December starts.
December belongs to Main Street and the evening markets
Sunday, December 6: the parade
The city's calendar lists the Annual Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting on Main Street for Sunday, December 6, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Because it's on a Sunday afternoon, it doesn't compete with either December Saturday at Wire Park. The 4 p.m. start puts the tree lighting near the end of the event, as daylight fades. Watch the City of Watkinsville calendar for any updates as the date gets closer.
Saturday, December 12: Christmas at Wire Park
The farmers market and the OF Artisan Market return for Christmas at Wire Park, 4 to 8 p.m. The market's schedule describes an evening of holiday shopping and handmade gifts from local vendors. A 4 p.m. start means the market runs into dark, with the complex's restaurants, Lalo's and South Main Brewing among them, open alongside. An evening market makes dinner part of the trip in a way a morning market doesn't.
Saturday, December 19: the last-minute market
A week later, the Last-Minute Christmas Market uses the same 4 to 8 p.m. window. The Oconee Farmers Market schedule pitches it to anyone who still has "a few gifts to find." It's the final community market date before Christmas, six days ahead of the holiday.
The Oconee Farmers Market sums up the run of dates with a short line printed over its 2026 holiday schedule:
Shop Small. Shop Local. Give Local.
Fitting the season to your own weekends
The calendar works best when you plan around the times. For a Saturday morning, November 28 is the one date with familiar hours, and the Wire Park tenants cover November 7 and 14. For evening outings, two December Saturdays at Wire Park start at 4 p.m., and OCAF opens on a Friday at 4. The parade gets the Sunday afternoon to itself.
Holiday shopping can start at OCAF on November 20 and wrap up at Wire Park on December 19, across seven community dates, every one of them in Watkinsville.
Watkinsville's market calendar shows how much of this town's value comes from the places where neighbors already meet. If you're thinking about what that means for your own property heading into 2027, Jennifer Westmoreland and her team would be glad to talk it through. Schedule a personalized market consultation, and we'll look at your home in its Watkinsville setting.
